International AI Enablement Workshop: AI for Everyone: Bringing the Hour of AI Movement to 300 Learners Across Asia and Africa

In 2025, EqualXS Foundation proudly joined the global #HourOfAI movement, a worldwide initiative by CSforALL and Code.org, to bring introductory, accessible AI learning to students and future educators across underserved communities.

What made this workshop remarkable was its reach. Three institutions came together for this collaboration:

* Vaish Arya Kenya Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, Bahadurgarh, Haryana

* D.P.B. Dayanand College of Education, Solapur, Maharashtra

* Government College for Women, Bahadurgarh, Haryana

And the learning crossed continents. Over 300 attendees from 14 towns across 3 countries in Asia and Africa joined online, guided by Microsoft Employee Volunteers who gave their time and expertise to make the experience genuinely meaningful:

The session was designed with one goal in mind: to ensure that AI literacy is not a privilege reserved for well resourced institutions. For many participants, students in teacher education programmes and young learners in communities with limited digital exposure, this was their first structured introduction to artificial intelligence.

The conversations that emerged were about more than technology. They were about confidence. About imagining futures that had previously felt out of reach. About understanding that tools shaping the world’s economy and education systems are within grasp, if someone takes the time to open the door.

This is what EqualXS believes: that access to AI understanding is not a nice to have. It is a foundational step toward building AI readiness, digital confidence, and pathways toward future learning and earning. The Hour of AI workshop was a step in that direction, taken together, across borders, with 300 voices in the room.
