From Snohomish to Rural Africa: Turning a Passion for Math into Global Impact

From Snohomish to Rural Africa: Turning a Passion for Math into Global Impact
EqualXS Foundation | Summer 2026 | Spark → Foundry → Launchpad
A Redmond High School sophomore, Manish Vishnuram, loved mathematics and wanted to share it, but didn’t know where to start.
Through EqualXS Spark → Foundry → Launchpad framework, he turned his passion into action:
* Spark: Discovered a passion for mathematics and a desire to share it.
* Foundry: Created and practiced a curriculum for four math workshops.
* Launchpad: Led interactive sessions for youth in rural African communities.
The experience helped him build skills in curriculum design, communication, and facilitation. After each workshop, he reflected, adapted, and improved.
For the participating youth, hesitation grew into curiosity and confidence. Seeing one student try encouraged others to participate and discover that they could do it too.
One student found his voice by sharing what he loved. Others found the confidence to try.
At EqualXS, we believe everyone has something to offer, with the right place to start, practice, and share.
Potential is universal. Pathways to opportunity are not.
